Chapter Eight

Scott’s body seemed to become heavier as he watched Liam pressing kisses against his wrist. He tried to swallow in an attempt to draw moisture back into his suddenly dry mouth, but it was difficult. Christ, the man was a fucking sensual assault on the senses. When Liam paused, indicating that he wanted to continue to lavish attention on his other wrist, Scott had paused for a moment. Am I ready for this? Ready for Liam? Amazingly, the answer was yes. Despite the turmoil and emotion of the past forty-eight hours, or perhaps because of it, Scott needed this as much as Liam appeared to.

Scott lifted his other hand and placed it gently into Liam’s waiting hands. “It’s okay, Liam. I know now that you did what you did to protect me. Don’t get me wrong—if you do something like this again, and not actually tell me why, we’ll have problems. But I get it now.”

Liam nodded slightly before gently lifting Scott’s wrist to his lips. Scott had to stifle a groan at the feel of his soft lips rubbing gently against the bruised skin of his wrist. At the first touch of Liam’s lips, Scott’s arousal soared, his cock thickening in seconds.

“Cable ties can be quickly and easily removed,” Liam murmured, and Scott had to concentrate to hear him over the beating of his own heart and the blood roaring in his ears. “All you have to do is tighten them as much as you can stand. Then, if you are bound with your hands in front of you, slam your arms back, tight against your hips, and you will break the plastic connections. If you’re bound from behind, lean over, and slam your arms hard against your own back, the same thing will happen.”

Liam sat back, still cradling Scott’s wrist. They were closer together now, and Scott realized that he had moved forward at some point, drawn to this man like a moth to a flame, until they were only inches apart. Scott could feel Liam’s breath against his face. Desperately, he tried to find the words to tell Liam what he was feeling and what he wanted. He could tell by the way Liam held himself back, that he was waiting for Scott to make a move.

When he saw sad resignation edge into Liam’s eyes, Scott knew he’d waited too long. Liam was just starting to move back when Scott leaned in. Scott pressed his mouth to Liam’s gently coaxing his mouth open, and as soon as Liam’s lips parted, Scott pressed his advantage and swept his tongue into Liam’s mouth.

Scott moaned at the flavor, moving his mouth in a slow and gentle kiss. He wanted to smile at the barely constrained tension he felt in Liam’s mouth. He knew a dominant man when he met one. It would be taking everything Liam had not to take control of the kiss, and Scott reveled in the power of it while it lasted. And it didn’t last long.
